Day 1: Arrive Clifden and overnight
Clifden, on Ireland’s west coast is located in an area of great natural beauty and easily accessible from Galway by local bus. We will meet you here to go through your route notes and maps and answer any questions you have about your itinerary.
This picturesque town is the capital of Connemara and has a delightful setting between the foothills of the Twelve Bens Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It is also renowned as the “gourmet capital” of western Ireland and there are many fine-dining restaurants where you can enjoy delicious fresh seafood.
Settle into your accommodation in Clifden, and tonight walk around the town and enjoy an evening meal in one of the many restaurants or bars.

Overnight: Clifden

Day 2: Walk Clifden
Beginning in the centre of Clifden take beach road loop walk following the paved coastal road until you get the the Castle trail. Very few places in Ireland can match the rugged beauty and range of scenery that can be seen from the area.
You will walk around Clifden Castle home to John D’Arcy, the founder of Clifden and the man who built the castle with its fantastic views of Clifden Harbour. Towards the end of this walk you can visit the John D'Arcy Monument up on the Hill which has the best view of the Town.
This evening we recommend early bird dinner at the Marconi Restaurant on Main Street as it has a reputation for great cuisine, such as roast rack of Connemara lamb and enjoy traditional music in Lowry's Bar.

Overnight: Clifden

Day 3: Transfer to Letterfrack. Walk Connemara National Park and visit Kylemore Abbey & Gardens
The Morning transfer brings you to Letterfrack, home of the Connemara National Park and its office which was origionally built by the Inventor of the Radio, William Marconi who once had the famous Diamond Hill Covered in Tall Radio Masts more than 100 years ago.
After your Hike up the Diamond Hill in the Connemara National Park you will then take another short transfer to the world famous Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Gardens and spend a couple of hours enjoying its splendour.

Overnight: Letterfrack

Day 4: Onward Travel
From Letterfrack, you can take a bus to Galway City. From Galway City, there are connections to Shannon or Dublin Airports.
